INSPIRE kids to learn and be their best.

A Child’s life is shaped during the first five years. We want to ensure that every child gets off to a good start. From early education…to arts and humanities…to summer reading…. Our Y inspires young minds. The Y also develops leaders, through counselor-in-training programs, Youth in Government, and other initiatives. Your support helps us to provide these vital programs. A gift of $500 inspires 2 kids with a one-year membership and a gift of $1,000 inspires five kids-in-need with summer camp experiences.

swimPROTECT kids from harm.

One in four kids is unsupervised after school. Between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., many children do not have access to safe, stimulating after school care. Our community entrusts our Y to provide high-quality daycare and after school care.

Drowning is the second-leading cause of accidental death among children aged 14 and under. We want to make sure that every kid in our community learns to be safe around the water. Your donation enables us to provide life-saving water safety lessons. A gift of $250 protects 15 kids with water safety training.

EMPOWER a healthier community.

Childhood obesity has more than tripled in the past 30 years.  Obesity increases the incidence of diabetes, high blood pressure, and a range of health risks. The Y fights this epidemic through a wide-range of healthy activities. Your support enables us to provide kids with after school and summer fitness programs, sports, and health and nutrition education in a supportive, fun environment. a $100 gift empowers a kid to join a sports team and a gift of $2,500 empowers 10 girls through the Girls on the Run Program.

CHAIRMAN'S ROUNDTABLE  Chairman’s Roundtable members show their dedication to our Y’s cause with an annual gift of $1,000 or more. To show our appreciation, Roundtable members receive: two invitations to the Good Kids Dinner and listing in the dinner program and recognition in the Y lobby. Plus, the satisfaction of knowing you made a difference! To find out more about how to become a part of the Chairman's roundtable, email Carolyn at cmayo@ymcabwv.org.
