YMCA Aquatics

The YMCA is the nation's number one swim instructor, because YMCA progressive swim lessons are taught by caring, certified staff who use a guided-discovery teaching approach in a positive environment. All kids learn to swim at the YMCA at their own pace, and progress to the next level once they have mastered their current level.
Other YMCA aquatics programs include infant-parent classes, liefguarding certification, classes for people with disabilities and water classes for teens and adults. Water programs also include aquatic group exercise, home school swimming, water sports, including synchronized swimming, and masters competitive swimming for people 18 and over. Competitive swim team programs are also available for youth.
Many YMCAs offer special classes to help children and families learn how to be safer in and around water, including YMCA Splash Learn to Swim Week. YSplash is a water orientation and safety program providing instruction on swimming skills and basic water safety each June.
